Training content
This module focuses primarily on the product area of power-driven lifting equipment. In particular, electric chain hoists including the associated trolleys and rope winches are covered. The focus is on the product-specific features of this lifting equipment, the different hoist designs and their design and functional differences. In addition, the respective modes of operation are explained in detail and typical types of application are presented in a practical manner. In addition, the relevant normative and legal requirements are discussed in order to provide a safe, standard-compliant and application-oriented understanding of the use of power-driven lifting equipment.

2.2 Specialist course for power-driven lifting equipment
Training content
This module is primarily concerned with the handling, maintenance and inspection of power-driven lifting equipment and trolleys. This includes electric chain hoists and associated trolleys as well as rope winches. It examines the criteria according to which the devices are tested, the legal requirements that apply to the devices, the documents and persons responsible for the test and how to carry out the test correctly.
Added value
This module provides an up-to-date and well-founded level of knowledge for the proper performance of WHZ tests, which offers considerable added value for both the person performing the test and the responsible operator of the devices. Inspectors with a comprehensive understanding of the relevant legal requirements, standards and technical rules are able to identify potential hazards at an early stage and eliminate them in a targeted manner. This makes a major contribution to the safe, efficient and reliable operation of work equipment. At the same time, operators benefit from increased operational safety, a longer service life of the devices and the minimization of legal and liability risks. Overall, the updated specialist knowledge makes a major contribution to the safety, availability and efficiency of the WHZ used.
Target groups of the modules
The basic course modules are aimed at interested parties, sales staff, customer service staff, technicians, engineers and managers. Our specialist course modules are suitable for testing, maintenance and repair personnel as well as employees who, because of their specialist training and experience, are authorized to work as qualified persons for testing winches, lifting and towing equipment.
Form & prerequisite of the modules
The basic course modules are an online training course. The prerequisites for active participation are a webcam and a microphone. A PC / smartphone is the basic requirement. Participants of a booked specialist course are trained on site at the training center in Herne. The prerequisites for specialist courses are participation in the basic course(s) and certification as a competent person in the field of winches, lifting and towing equipment.
